LIving THE TREASURED LIFE.........
“Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.” (1 Peter 4:12-13)
I think its easy to live in mediocrity when our life is chugging smoothly down the ole highway of sameness and routine. It's when we hit a pothole or run off the side of the road that God gets our attention and we stop to evaluate just where we are in life's journey. Crisis has a way of melting away distractions from itself pretty quickly. It can also be a positive catalyst for change that will stimulate much needed growth and open up new windows of opportunity for our future.
So, don't be afraid of the potholes, my friends. They may just be what it takes to put you one step closer to living the Treasured Life you once dreamed of. Use them. Embrace them. Get up from the side of the road and take a good look around. Get your bearings and then pull out your compass, God's Word, and begin to map out a destination with His guidance. He already knows what's over the next hill and the beautiful vista that will greet you. Take His hand and let Him lift you up and pull you back onto life's highway, so you can anticipate the gorgeous view ahead.
"Father, I pray today that when we encounter struggles and trials, we will continue to look to You for direction. Encourage us. Teach us Your ways as we walk through the refinement of difficulties. Deepen our faith through them and make us more like You in the process. We receive the great inheritance of eternal life and life more abundantly now from you. And we thank you, Lord. In the Name of Christ Jesus, Amen"
